What? Benjies Deli is ready for a Mexican-themed event? That’s right. And before you dismiss that as silly, think about this: What is Cinco de Mayo? If you guessed “Mexico’s answer to Independence Day”, you’d be dead wrong. That’s on September 16th.
Cinco de Mayo isn’t even really celebrated anywhere but the United States—I guess we like at least one reason a month to have a huge theme party—and Puebla, an area of Mexico who won a battle against the French back in 1862. And that’s what they are commemorating with Cinco de Mayo: democracy, the freedom from tyranny and The Battle of Puebla, won on May 5th, 1862.
So, enough of the history lesson. Why not come in on Saturday or Sunday this weekend to celebrate democracy at Benjies Deli? (more…)
It's NCAA March Madness at Benjies Deli!
For just one month out of the year, you can go totally mad with basketball and still be considered quite normal. That’s right, March Madness has everyone stirred up, both for casual and life-long fans. College teams across the nation are battling it out for the Championship, and there is only one place where you can view it in beautiful HD with the benefit of a full-on bar. (more…)
With a little less than a week left until the Super Bowl Sunday, you know Benjies Deli is gearing up and getting excited! Last week’s games were absolutely unbelievable—49ers were so close to going to the Super Bowl, but those fumbles by Kyle Williams really set them back. It was a great run for the 49ers though, and a fantastic season. Can you imagine what a game that would have been, the 49ers versus the Ravens?! Anyway, we digress…
So they meet again, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, face-to-face since that epic matchup in 2008 where the Giants upset the undefeated Pats. (more…)
If you’ve been waiting for Chanukah to indulge in some latkes, now is the time. We do have them every day of the week at Benjies, but now is the time to really go for it and savor those delicious potato pancakes! Why not get some pastrami too, and sandwich it between two latkes? Hmmm, we might need to talk to the chef about putting that on the menu…
Come in tonight for our mouthwateringly tender brisket dinners, and our long-awaited roast chicken, which customers have been begging us to put on the normal menu. But we like to keep it for special occasions, like Chanukah and Yom Kippur. (more…)
Our smoked fish tray is a popular one for parties, especially around the holidays!
There is so much going on in November and December—Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas—and Benjies Deli can help you with it all. What about the NFL and Monday Night Football? We’ve got it covered. We can’t help break the NBA standoff between players and owners, as that seems impossible even for them to sort out! We miss you, Lakers…
But back to celebrating the season, whether that be family holidays or sports! Thanksgiving is coming up, and many people have family in town for the whole weekend. Now, if you’ve spent hours (or even days) preparing a humongous turkey dinner for 25 people, the last thing you want to do for the rest of the weekend is cook. And, let’s be honest, there’s only so much turkey that a human can eat. Call Benjies! Make sure you call in an order for a selection from our hot dinners, served with potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls and butter. Choose from roast brisket of beef with potato pancakes, corned beef and cabbage, roast chicken, roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, meatloaf and gravy and Swiss steak. Make sure you call us BEFORE Thanksgiving though, as these orders usually need 72 hours advance notice. (more…)
Let Benjies Deli take care of all your catering needs this Halloween! Impress your guests with delicious hors d'ouevres like these handmade deviled eggs.
In Orange County, it can be hard to find a good venue for a small party. But Benjies Deli has the answer—the Bamboo Lounge can be hired out for parties of up to 40 people and Halloween is right around the corner! What a great place to get your friends together for a costume party on Halloween, or a great get-together any time of the year.

Come watch the Angels play at Benjies Deli!
Come watch Major League Baseball with Benjies Deli! At our Bamboo Lounge, we have six wide-screen TVs hoisted up at all angles so you won’t have to miss a triple play or home run! Now that the interleague plays are done, we see that the National League ranking still remains the same—The Indians, Angels and Cardinals are coming up this week (despite having trouble earlier in the season during June). Right now the Phillies are leading in the power rankings, followed closely by the Yankees and Red Sox. Our very own Angels sit high on that list too, at number eight out of 30. Over on the American League side, Boston is currently taking the lead, although many other teams are surprisingly coming up and contending for the title. It’s too early to predict who will make it to the World Series, but it’s looking like an action-packed season so far.
What a season it has been for the NBA Playoffs! Even though our favorite team, the LA Lakers, has been out, Benjies Deli is still enjoying watching the finals as two of the best teams, the Heat and the Mavericks, go head to head for the title of championship. It’s been a spectacular series, with the Heat currently leading the scoreboard at 2-1, but the Mavericks still look like they’ve got a lot of game to give the Heat a run for their money. The Mavericks have fought back with great defense, limiting the almost-unstoppable LeBron James and slowing down even MVP Dwayne Wade. We think we’ve still got a couple more games of high competition and extraordinary team execution.
The winding down of the school year means only one thing: graduation season is here! And of course, school commencements mean ensuing parties celebrating the achievements of that special graduate in the family. Looking for the easiest way to treat the accomplished graduate out? Come on down to Benjies Deli, where you and the family can proudly toast to the graduate with a round of our world famous Reuben—corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut grilled on rye bread and served with a heaping side of potato salad. Got a large group of family and friends? Don’t worry! We have plenty of seating to accommodate big groups.
If you are planning to relish in the warm California weather (we don’t blame you!) with a poolside celebration, note that Benjies Deli also does delicious catering! Order one of our crowd-pleasers, a sandwich platter, made up of assorted sandwiches crafted from your choice of meats and cheese or egg, chicken or tuna salads. Our sandwich platters even include coleslaw and potato salad sides and all the condiments you need. Or, order a variety of our appetizers and hors d’oeuvres platters; with a diverse selection of mini sweet and sour stuffed cabbage rolls, chicken fingers with ranch dip, mini meat knishes to Swedish meatballs, you will have an eclectic menu with something for everyone. With the time you saved from prepping food and cooking, you can now enjoy lounging underneath the sun while entertaining your guests.
Planning a more formal, sit-down type of dinner celebration? Benjies Deli can also help! We cater our piping hot and delicious dinner meals right to your dinner table. Dig into a plate of our beef roast brisket with potato pancakes on the side, or enjoy our world-famous (and customer favorite!) corned beef and cabbage with new potatoes right in the comfort of your own home.
It’s the season to celebrate, so enjoy the time you have with your family and friends while commemorating your graduate’s hard work, and leave all the cooking up to Benjies Deli. For catering orders, make sure you call us 48-72 hours ahead of time to order before your event. That way, you can have Benjies Deli do all the work while you relax and take all the credit. For catering inquiries and ordering, please call Benjies Deli at (714) 541-6263.
