What? Benjies Deli is ready for a Mexican-themed event? That’s right. And before you dismiss that as silly, think about this: What is Cinco de Mayo? If you guessed “Mexico’s answer to Independence Day”, you’d be dead wrong. That’s on September 16th.
Cinco de Mayo isn’t even really celebrated anywhere but the United States—I guess we like at least one reason a month to have a huge theme party—and Puebla, an area of Mexico who won a battle against the French back in 1862. And that’s what they are commemorating with Cinco de Mayo: democracy, the freedom from tyranny and The Battle of Puebla, won on May 5th, 1862.
