Celebrate Graduation Season with Benjies!

The winding down of the school year means only one thing: graduation season is here!  And of course, school commencements mean ensuing parties celebrating the achievements of that special graduate in the family.   Looking for the easiest way to treat the accomplished graduate out? Come on down to Benjies Deli, where you and the family can proudly toast to the graduate with a round of our world famous Reuben—corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut grilled on rye bread and served with a heaping side of potato salad.  Got a large group of family and friends? Don’t worry! We have plenty of seating to accommodate big groups.

If you are planning to relish in the warm California weather (we don’t blame you!) with a poolside celebration, note that Benjies Deli also does delicious catering!  Order one of our crowd-pleasers, a sandwich platter, made up of assorted sandwiches crafted from your choice of meats and cheese or egg, chicken or tuna salads.  Our sandwich platters even include coleslaw and potato salad sides and all the condiments you need.   Or, order a variety of our appetizers and hors d’oeuvres platters; with a diverse selection of mini sweet and sour stuffed cabbage rolls, chicken fingers with ranch dip, mini meat knishes to Swedish meatballs, you will have an eclectic menu with something for everyone.   With the time you saved from prepping food and cooking, you can now enjoy lounging underneath the sun while entertaining your guests.

Planning a more formal, sit-down type of dinner celebration? Benjies Deli can also help! We cater our piping hot and delicious dinner meals right to your dinner table.  Dig into a plate of our beef roast brisket with potato pancakes on the side, or enjoy our world-famous (and customer favorite!) corned beef and cabbage with new potatoes right in the comfort of your own home.

It’s the season to celebrate, so enjoy the time you have with your family and friends while commemorating your graduate’s hard work, and leave all the cooking up to Benjies Deli.   For catering orders, make sure you call us 48-72 hours ahead of time to order before your event.  That way, you can have Benjies Deli do all the work while you relax and take all the credit.  For catering inquiries and ordering, please call Benjies Deli at (714) 541-6263.

Guest Blogger: Chapman Student Loves Benjies New York Deli

As a newly transferred student to Chapman University last semester I made it a mission to try as many new eateries as possible in and around Orange. I soon found this task to be arduous when I realized just how many food establishments are in the area.

I did however stumble upon Benjies Deli while I was at the hardware store off of Tustin and La Veta. After a day of moving into my new apartment I crawled into Benjies with no expectations. I remember ordering the Benjies Special and being absolutely blown away. Since then my girlfriend and I have made dinner at Benjies a weekly tradition. We always start with a plate of potato latkes that are inhaled in a matter of minutes. She always gets the lox and cream cheese on a bagel, which she claims is the best she’s ever had. I however have found myself ordering something new of the menu every time. I can honestly say that through the entire seven-page menu I have never been disappointed once.

As a member of the Chapman Men’s Water Polo team I have also passed along the secret of Benjies to my teammates. With a full bar and big portions, it’s the perfect place for us to go after practice. You’ll see us every Tuesday night after our scrimmage in the Bamboo Lounge, stuffing our faces. We’ve all agreed as well, after seeing the catering menu, that for our water polo banquet we are going to suggest Benjies’ catering to our coach.

Being so close to Chapman, I was surprised I’d never heard of Benjies Deli before. With so many fraternity, sorority, philanthropic and sports events I’m surprised that more Chapman students don’t take advantage of Benjies New York Deli and catering service. Unfortunately I’ll be graduating this coming May and I don’t plan to stay in the area after. So I have one more year to enjoy Benjies before I go out into the real world. I will however be sure to visit Benjies whenever I’m at my alma mater.

Don’t forget to follow Benjies Deli on Twitter to find out about special Chapman University promotions! @benjiesdeli—there will be a special discount for Chapman students starting soon!

To experience a true, New York-style deli right here in Orange County, drive or walk directly to 1828 N. Tustin Avenue in Santa Ana.  The restaurant is open 7 days a week 7 AM – 9PM, and Karaoke is 9PM- midnight on Friday nights.

If you want to hold a private party for an event, contact Benjies Deli to reserve the Bamboo Lounge and discuss ordering food for the event. Call (714) 541-6263 and ask for Lloyd Weinstein, whether you want to book a private party or have your home event catered.

Thanks, Benjies!

Students of Orange County: April Discount!

Calling all students in the Orange County area! During the month of April, Benjies Deli is offering a 10% discount off the bill to all students from any college or university in Orange County, including Chapman University, Santa Ana College, CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine, Orange Coast College, Fullerton College, Irvine Valley College, SOCA University, Golden West College, Concordia University, Laguna College of Art & Design, Vanguard University or Santiago Canyon College.

This is an added extra to Benjies Deli’s already great prices and huge portions. One of their award-winning pastrami sandwiches will fill up the most starving of students, and the Francheesy—a grilled knockwurst covered in bacon and cheese on a grilled onion roll—is a true belly-buster. The corned beef, pastrami and salami triple-decker sandwich will leave you with enough to take home!

We always have a weekly special for under $10, and our Early Bird Specials are good seven days a week. Get out of classes after 3PM? Head over to Benjies Deli for the $8.95 Early Bird menu, with choices like chicken-fried steak with country gravy, spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread, southern fried chicken or roast turkey and dressing to name just a few. The meals come with soup or salad; a choice of french fries, mashed potatoes or rice pilaf and vegetables; rye bread; and your choice of three desserts. For $8.95! It doesn’t get much better than that.

If you wake up late with a big appetite after a big night out, Benjies Deli is the place for you. We serve breakfast all day, and nothing is better to cure what ails you than a nice big omelette or a big plate of chicken-fried steak and eggs. Why go to a fast food restaurant for a breakfast sandwich when you can get a fried egg sandwich with bacon or ham covered in melted cheese on toasted egg bread at Benjies? Traditional steak and eggs or corned beef hash and eggs? Yep, we’ve got that too.

The NCAA championships are on this weekend. Escape the Easter festivities and sneak to Benjies Deli for brews, pastrami sandwiches, chili dogs and fries while watching the top teams play for the title in the Bamboo Lounge. Once we watch the final game on Monday, we’re already in baseball season. If you can’t get to Angel or Dodger Stadium, or would rather spend the ticket price on drinks, come in to the Bamboo Lounge with your friends. The food’s better here than the stadiums—and the Bamboo Lounge has a full bar!

And Benjies Deli has Santa Ana’s best Karaoke venue in the Bamboo Lounge on Friday nights, from 9PM to 1PM. Practice for next season’s American Idol, if you think you’ve got what it takes.
