There’s Still Time To Order SuperBowl Sandwiches for Sunday!

Chicken salad

Fear not, dear Benjies and Superbowl lovers! There’s still time to order your party trays, appetizers and sandwiches for your Superbowl Sunday party. Why slave over a hot stove on Saturday when you could just pick up some wonderful, freshly made food from Benjies on Sunday morning?

Just think: a platter of deviled eggs, just like mom used to make, and made by hand. If you’re attending a party, these are a perfect appetizer to bring. Benjies also makes their chicken, tuna and egg salads from scratch too. What restaurant makes anything from scratch anymore? Benjies New York Deli, that’s who. They’ve been doing it that way since Stan Weinstein opened the restaurant in 1967. (more…)

Get Your Deli Platters for Superbowl Sunday!

Superbowl XLV

The clock is ticking on the final countdown to the Superbowl, and after last week’s Playoffs, fans from Philly and Wisconsin sure are looking forward to February 6th.

So the clock is also ticking on the time needed for catering. Benjies Deli has been taking a lot of orders for sandwich trays and deli platters for the big day. Countless eggs will be subjected to deviling, wings stripped from hot and spicy buffaloes and barbecue sauce applied liberally to tasty balls of meat.

If you want to have scrumptious Benjies New York Deli goodness at your home on the big day, then give us a call now to make sure we can fill your order. Let Benjies do all the work for you! Let’s face it—your wife will either be out shopping or, if she’s a fan, she’s going to want to watch the game, not make sandwiches for your buddies.

Here’s an idea: clear the coffee table and measure it. Then call Benjies New York Deli and order up a combination of sandwich fixin’s and finger food. Pick it up before your friends come over for your Superbowl party, unwrap the platters, and wait to see your friends’ eyes light up when they come in! (more…)

Benjies and the Jets

The NFL Playoffs are here!

Well, after yesterday’s games, we’re narrowing down the teams that will grace the field in Arlington, TX in two weeks time. Many of our “bird” teams have flown the Superbowl coop, including the Seahawks, the Ravens and the Falcons. And seeing as how our nation’s bird is the eagle, perhaps there’s a link there with the Patriot’s loss.

So next weekend we’ll see how the New York Jets do against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Green Bay Packers will battle the Chicago Bears for the honor of going to football’s ultimate showdown. Sounds like there will be time spent in front of the television, and we know what that means. Snacks. Oh yeah, lots of snacks. (more…)

Yom Kippur This Saturday, and Benjies Deli Has Your Favorites

While it’s customary to fast on Yom Kippur, we at Benjies Deli like to concentrate on the eating part—that is, the pre-fast meals and the post-fast meals. And we’ve got everything you need for those meals, whether you come in to Benjies to enjoy them, or we bring them to your door. We’ve been doing this since we opened in 1967, so we know a thing or two about traditional Jewish food!

Before the fast, we recommend our chicken soup with your choice of noodles, rice or kasha varnishkas, which comes in small or large sizes. Sharing with a special someone? We serve a “for two” meal that’s perfect for the Meal of Cessation (Seudat Mafseket), which usually calls for boiled chicken. But boiled chicken sounds boring, but not our Chicken in a Pot: half a chicken served in a tureen with matzoh balls, kreplach, noodles, rice and carrots, all swimming in delicious chicken broth. Hmmm, maybe you don’t want to share after all? If red meat strikes your fancy, we’ve also got Ribs in a Pot, which are deliciously tender short ribs in with the same goodies. And don’t miss our special “Mish Mosh, It’s a Meal!” soup, a bowl full of a matzoh ball, kreplach, rice, noodles, chicken and carrots all snug in our freshly made chicken stock. (more…)
