Happy Chanukah—Benjies Deli Has Everything You Need

If you’ve been waiting for Chanukah to indulge in some latkes, now is the time. We do have them every day of the week at Benjies, but now is the time to really go for it and savor those delicious potato pancakes! Why not get some pastrami too, and sandwich it between two latkes? Hmmm, we might need to talk to the chef about putting that on the menu…

Come in tonight for our mouthwateringly tender brisket dinners, and our long-awaited roast chicken, which customers have been begging us to put on the normal menu. But we like to keep it for special occasions, like Chanukah and Yom Kippur. (more…)

More Than Just Matzoh Ball Soup!

The rain has arrived again, and nothing’s better for a rainy day than a bowl of warming, filling soup. And at Benjies Deli, all of our soup is made from scratch and made fresh daily! And best of all, every soup is served with our fresh rye bread and butter.

Now you might think that Benjies only makes matzo ball soup, but we don’t stop there. Our matzo ball soup is definitely a favorite with our regulars, don’t get us wrong, but we make 10 different kinds of soup for our customers. What can we say? We love soup!

So let’s start with the matzo ball soup—fluffy, delicious matzo balls swimming in our home-made chicken broth with chicken pieces and carrots. Not hearty enough for you? Try out Mish Mosh…It’s a Meal! soup, which has a matzo ball, kreplach, rice and noodles added to that hand-crafted chicken broth, chicken pieces and carrots. (more…)

NBA Kicks off on Tuesday–and we have questions!!

The Lakers' Andrew Bynum

No, not the usual pre-season questions like are the Lakers and the Celtics going to have another battle of the playoffs, or will the Clippers ever string enough wins together to get a sniff at the playoffs. Those are so yesterday! Instead, let’s reserve the Bamboo Lounge at Benjies, load up on corned beef, pastrami and Swiss cheese triple-decker sandwiches and beer to resolve bigger questions that demand answers.

For instance, will all the rubles in Russia make the Nets a winner? We know money can’t buy everything, but rubles? Maybe, just maybe the crazy Ruskie will pull it off—or maybe the Nets will end up playing in the NBA (National Bolshevik Association) in Siberia. They better load up on Benjies’ famous sweet and sour cabbage soup for those long cold nights! (more…)
